You have been given approval from Port Planning (VHF 63 or +32 3 229 71 69) to moor the vessel at the designated berth.

If the vessel is berthed at an operational terminal: 

• You must notify the concessionaire.
• You coordinate with Port Planning (VHF 63) at least every 12 hours or correctly use APCS Barge to notify future berth occupancy. 

Vessels must be fitted with the necessary navigation lights at night. 

The vessel must be moored according to the rules of good seamanship. Daily monitoring is required.

A contact person must be available by telephone 24/7. 
The contact details of this person must be clearly visible at the wheelhouse on the quay side, or they can be communicated by phone to Port Planning (+32 3 229 71 69).

In case of emergencies, someone must be able to be on site within one hour at the latest to shift/move the vessel.

Whenever the waves are high as a result of poor weather conditions and there is a possibility of the vessel sinking or causing damage to the port infrastructure, someone must always be present in order to monitor the situation on site. 

Nautical supervision must be provided at all times during loading and unloading activities. This includes making sure that the vessel is moored correctly, ensuring the soundness and stability of the vessel and ensuring that the loading or unloading operation is conducted safely and that the cargo is stowed correctly. The supervisor must in the vicinity of the vessel at all times, must have an overview of the loading and unloading activities and must take the necessary measures to avoid the risk of accidents. 

Masters of moored tankers and tank barges must ensure that a sufficient number of authorised persons are on board at all times to allow the appropriate safety measures to be taken.
