Amendment to the rates ordinance for the inland navigation sector

On 1 January 2025, a number of financial changes have come into force. Implementing these measures will enable Port of Antwerp-Bruges to continue investing in the port to ensure its long-term competitiveness. Here is an overview of the most important changes for inland navigation:

•	We will follow the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of August 2024 and apply it to the various tariff regulations and fees for both platforms. This translates into a 2.86% increase from 1 January 2025.
•	We are introducing a quarterly subscription for commercial vessels in the Antwerp port area where the rate is 18 times the basic rate.
•	We are introducing a quarterly subscription for estuary vessels in the Zeebrugge port area where the rate is 18 times the basic rate.
•	We are adjusting the method of calculating the surcharge for official reporting. For each inland vessel that enters the port without reporting in or leaves the port without a mandatory mooring report when reporting out and AIS signal, Port Dues charges an automatic reporting fee of 41 euros.
•	The daily rate for non-commercial recreational boating will be eliminated.
•	The tariffs for shore power, drinking water, and paid other ship operational waste rates will not be indexed, with these being charged based on actual consumption and processing costs.

Changes to receiving residual waste and rates

In order to comply with the new legislation on residual waste (Vlarema 9), since 1 January 2025, all residual waste comparable to household waste will be weighed for determination of costs. Charges for this waste are now calculated per kg and no longer per 60L rubbish bag.

Port of Antwerp-Bruges will charge the following fees for the disposal of other ship-generated waste from 1 January 2025:

Coarse marine waste	EUR 34.7 per m³
Other waste comparable with domestic waste	EUR 0.19 per kg

New user platforms water and shore power

From Monday 3 February 2025, inland navigation vessels can choose from three providers for the use of drinking water and shore power cabinets in the Antwerp port area: Connect4Shore, Ease2pay and Techmetrys.

With each of these providers, you pay 4.13 EUR/m3 for drinking water and 0.27 EUR/kWh for shore power. For technical support or reporting defects, a help desk is available 24/7 by phone on the phone number on the cabinet.

By cooperating with several providers, Port of Antwerp-Bruges aims to give inland navigation vessels freedom of choice and simplify the purchase of drinking water and shore power.
